This episode marks the last time we’re going to see Floriana as Maggie Sawyer in Supergirl this year. I’ll be honest with y’all, I don’t think she’s coming back soon or later. But they chose to let our hopes up by saying “she will be back when she’s avaliable”. And this is so dishonest, I’m deeply disappointed.
Anyways, below you can find the press release for Monday’s episode “Damage”
MORGAN EDGE SETS HIS SIGHTS ON LENA — When multiple children get sick from lead poisoning, Morgan Edge (guest star Adrian Pasdar) points the finger at Lena (Katie McGrath) and blames her creation of the lead bomb she made to save National City from the Daxamites. While Lena knows she never intended any harm, she fears there may have been a flaw in her design, leaving her responsible. Kara (Melissa Benoist) teams up with Samantha (Odette Annable) to clear Lena’s name, but it turns out to be harder than they thought. Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (guest star Floriana Lima) make a crucial decision about the future of their relationship. Kevin Smith directed the episode written by Eric Carrasco & Cindy Lichtman (#305). Original airdate 11/6/2017.
2016 – Supergirl > Season Three > Episodic & Production Stills > 3.05 “Damage”
EW posted Floriana’s first solo interview about Supergirl. Read bellow:
Supergirl will dive much more into Maggie’s history during Monday’s episode, which is shaping up to be a very emotional hour that features the introduction of Maggie’s father.
When Eliza Danvers (Helen Slater) throws a wedding shower for brides-to-be Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (Floriana Lima), the latter reaches out to her estranged father, who viewers know kicked a young Maggie out of the house when she was outed on Valentine’s Day. Suffice it to say, Oscar’s arrival will affect Maggie as old feelings of hurt and betrayal are brought to the surface.
“It’s very difficult for Maggie,” Lima tells EW. “This is a [part] Maggie’s story line that… is so complicated, deep, and painful, and something that so many people can relate to. After he kicked her out, she built herself up, she was very brave and she evolved into this very proud, strong, gay woman. She’s at this point where she’s very terrified that seeing him again, she’ll feel his rejection again. She isn’t sure that she can hold onto her strong self when they reunite.”
Though the story line proved emotionally exhausting, the actress praises Bernard for what he brought to the role in Monday’s upcoming hour. “First of all, I love Carlos,” Lima says. “I was ecstatic when they told me they cast him. Working with Carlos, I was so lucky. He’s such a committed guy and actor. You’re going to see that he’s really great in this role. He gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes. It was very fun to play as an actor.”
“What I really liked about it is we show that Maggie’s dad comes from a different culture, and it’s very hard for him to accept his daughter’s homosexuality,” Lima continues. “We show a little bit of that and your heart goes out to him, because he’s transcending prejudices of his own culture and it’s hard to get past that. What we see is it’s hard for a culture to change and grow. We’re almost even experiencing this in America right now, so we need to focus on compassion and reason.”
Well, Maggie’s father is coming to town and Eliza Danvers returns to throw the happy couple a wedding shower in the next episode of Supergirl. Take a look and read the official synopse and promotional pictures.

Supergirl airs on October 23rd, 2017 at 8pm on The CW.
Our gallery was updated with screen captures from this week’s episode of Supergirl, “Triggers”. There’s only 3 episodes left to Floriana in this season according to entertainment website, we hope she comes back to more episode because we love Maggie and they gave us nothing about her own story. Enjoy!
With Floriana Lima not returning to Supergirl as a series regular, the fate of the Alex-Maggie romance has been in question during the long hiatus, but now we have some definitive news.
“Maggie does not die,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells EW. “I’m sure a lot of people are afraid of that. Maggie will continue to exist in the world and we hope that if the opportunity presents itself for her, that she’ll come back from time to time.”
Lima joined the Greg Berlanti superhero drama in season 2 as Detective Maggie Sawyer, who struck up a romantic relationship with Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) for an emotional coming out story that culminated in Alex proposing to Maggie in the finale. However, the actress will only recur in season 3.
“Unfortunately, Floriana decided to move on, which left us with, how do we write her out as a regular while still honoring these two women who were deeply in love with each other?” Kreisberg says. “Taking a page out of some of our own personal dating history, we’ve come up with a story that we really feel like honors what’s come before them, and honors how much they love each other, how much they mean to each other, and how much they’ve changed each other’s lives. It’s some of the most emotional stuff we’ve ever done, and Floriana has been so good in these first five episodes. Episode 3 is all about Maggie and her dad, played by Carlos Bernard, and it’s some of the most heartbreaking stuff I’ve ever done on anything I’ve ever done.”
While the future may sound murky for the Sanvers relationship, fellow executive producer Greg Berlanti recently said the show is still committed to exploring Alex’s romantic life moving forward.
24 alum Carlos Bernard will guest-star during Season 3 of the CW series as Maggie Sawyer’s father, TVLine has learned.
Like his daughter, Bernard’s Oscar Rodas is also a cop. It was revealed last season that Maggie grew up in a very conservative family that did not approve of her being a lesbian. After she was outed, Maggie and her parents got in a big fight, which resulted in the teen getting kicked out of the house by her dad.
Will pops drop by to make peace and give his stamp of approval to a possible engagement? At the close of the Season 2 finale, Alex popped the question to her girlfriend Maggie, whose answer remains a mystery for now. And although Maggie’s portrayer, Floriana Lima, will step down from series regular to recurring for Season 3, executive producer Greg Berlanti doesn’t believe the change will be perceptible to viewers.
“Any character people love is not there as much as people want them there,” Berlanti told TVLine at the Television Critics Association summer press tour this week. “[But] from my perspective, we will use her as much as we can.”
“She’s wonderful on the show, and she’s got some real ardent fans, as she should,” he continued. “We wanted more of her, but she’s got other things in the hopper, other things she wants to consider.”
Ever since it was announced that Floriana Lima would not be a series regular next season of Supergirl, fans have worried that the relationship between her character Maggie and Chyler Leigh’s Alex may be headed for heartbreak.
Attending a reunion panel for Everwood at the Television Critics Association’s press tour on Wednesday, executive producer Greg Berlanti addressed the couple’s future, noting that Lima’s recurring status wouldn’t necessarily mean a lesser presence for the duo.
“I don’t think so,” Berlanti said as to whether this change would be noticeably felt. “If any character people love is not there as much as they want them there, they’re going to be upset that they’re not. For my perspective, I’d say we will use her as much as we can.”
For fans worried this may spell the end of the Sanvers relationship, Berlanti played coy. “I don’t want to say too much about the story aspects of it, but we got into it wanting to tell the story of Alex because she was a lead on the show and no matter what, we want to continue exploring Alex’s romantic life,” Berlanti said. “We get to do it in as much as actors want to come play and work with us as much as we can. It’s obviously been a really successful element of the show. We love telling the stories.”
Still, Berlanti recognized that this is the nature of the business. “It’s so hard in this business to get everybody swimming in the same direction,” he said. “We’re very blessed with that story line and actors involved with it, and the audience enjoyment of it. You never want to see those things go away, so we’ll see what happens.”
“I think [Floriana is] wonderful on the show, and she’s got some real ardent fans, and she should,” he said. “Of course we wanted more of her, but she’s got other things in the hopper and other things she wants to consider. We’d love to have her back as much as possible.”
Supergirl will return Monday, Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
